On the 4th September 2016 the Jaguar Enthusiasts’ Club (JEC) returns to the north of England in force. For our second national day of the year after ‘The Cotswolds Festival’ we bring the splendour of the club to the glorious Ripley Castle.
This stunning location, set on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, near Harrogate in North Yorkshire, provides the perfect canvas for hundreds of Jaguars as well as a whole host of fun activities for the whole family.
Fancy sitting back and relaxing while enjoying the surroundings?
We have a varied musical selection for your entertainment including classic rock band ‘Deepsnake’ who return for the second year providing a lively round up of rock classics, sure to get you up and dancing.
We also have the fabulous ‘Glamophones’ for something completely different and this all female three-piece vintage harmony group are set to sing greats from the 40s, 50s and modern times, all in their own unique style.
You can look forward to about 3pm on the day when we have the girls singing and the last remaining flying Lancaster bomber honouring us with a flypast — surely a moment to wave a flag or two.
Other highlights include trade stands, craft stalls, food and drink, Concours, Pride and Joy, forum displays, regional displays, technical advisors and anniversary displays — there’s something for everyone.
And there’s something else to snout about
How about enjoying some fun in the arena with the ‘Ripley Grand Prix’ and racing pigs. Yep, we have some of the finest thorough bred race pigs for your entertainment, race cards will be found in your programme on the day if you fancy some fun and a little flutter. So ladies bring a hat and enjoy cheering on your porky winner.
We also have a few displays of other cars and machines; including Aston Martins and the Military Vehicle Trust.
You don’t have to be a JEC member to take part and ###a href=”Booking” class=”redactor-linkify-object”>http://www.jec.org.uk/userfile… forms are now available to download — see the events tab on our website for more details.
“If you’ve ever fancied exploring the history of Jaguar then I guarantee that one afternoon walking around our main show car park will reveal the glory of this special marque from the early days, right up to modern day,” says James Blackwell, Assistant General Manager at the JEC.
“And if you’re an enthusiast then you’ll surely know about the extensive guide of the marque ‘Jaguar all the cars’ by Nigel Thorley, which really comes to life at this sort of event,” added James.
We look forward to seeing you there.
